My Corona...

Good morning my Floral Fairies,

I hope this reaches you healthy, as happy as you can be under house arrest and that you are able to do whatever you need to do to get through this extremely difficult time.

I am slightly melancholy to be missing the short lived peony season of course but I am very blessed in lots of ways. Although all my spring bookings have been postponed for the foreseeable I have not had any cancellations as yet and I have even managed to secure a couple of bookings for later in the year so I'm not too much of a florist grump and am managing to stay pretty positive overall.

I am very lucky to have a small garden which I have been weeding and planting in and I have spent the last 2 days sunning myself and soaking up some much missed vitamin D. I have my lovely wife and dogs and we have been getting up and keeping up with our yoga and strength classes as well as getting out into the park for our daily allowance of outdoorseyness. I have also been wearing a different kimono from my collection every day this week to help me feel a little bit extra fabulous and my flat is now a palace and super organised. Having so much free time is alien to so many of us but I'm really trying to take advantage of the situation.

There are days when things don't feel so positive of course and that's ok too. I actually wrote a very different blog last week which was a lot more sweary as I was feeling quite the negative Nelly. It can stay in the drafts so I can add to it on the blue days and have a good old curse.

My heart goes out to those who have been directly affected by the virus. And to the amazing NHS staff who are working tirelessly and say a heartfelt thanks to the retail and delivery workers keeping us all fed and for those struggling financially and worrying about their jobs and businesses, I hope you all manage to get the support you need.

We all have to just remember there will be light at the end of the tunnel and soon for most of us this will hopefully just be a distant memory.

In the mean time, smell the roses, enjoy the sunshine and be at peace with yourself. No one deserves to be beating themselves up right now so just do whatever is right for you.

Eat the cake, drink the gin, but breathe, relax and stretch too. Keep hydrated and remember, always add flowers.

Lots of love

Jem
